The Green Skills Bootcamp is a free, four-week course offering hands-on training in grounds maintenance, with a mix of classroom learning and real-world work experience. Participants will gain skills in areas like:

• Trimming and maintaining trees, shrubs, and hedges
• Planting and caring for green spaces
• Habitat management and tree surveying
• Operating landscaping tools and machinery

Eligibility criteria:

The bootcamp starts on Monday 24th February 2025, and runs part-time (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) at Meadowbank Adult Education Centre in Cranford. A pre-learning session will also be held to provide support with CV writing and enrolment.

Ealing-based Action West London exist to ‘Change lives through Employment, Education, and Enterprise.’ They have a strong track record of delivering employment support services and supporting vulnerable individuals, and they want to hear from local charities, social enterprises, and community groups who are interested in a partnership to bid for funding, develop innovative projects, and ultimately work together to create sustainable opportunities to benefit residents across West London. There is a current opportunity to bid for significant funding to transform employability services in North-West London over the next ten years. • Receive a grant of £5000 for a duration of 12 months.
• Be enrolled into a Programme for peer research training (for one Black leader or senior member of the organisation). In addition to the grant, we will be compensating the organisation for their time spent on this Programme.
• Be part of discussions and listening circles to improve understanding and develop solutions to barriers to healthcare for the Black population in Ealing (during the peer research training programme).
• Be linked into networks and relevant training opportunities (as required by the organisation).

• This Grant Programme has been designed in response to demands from the Ealing Race Equality Commission (REC).  The REC Report was completed in 2022 to understand the local issues related to race, and the health inequalities experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Report demanded that: Local NHS commissioners draw up a clear plan for greater representation of the African and Caribbean communities in both health service provision and leadership positions in health services.
• Ealing Council and health services are urged to review funding for ethnic minority communities, particularly African and Caribbean communities, who have been disproportionately left behind in health structures and services.

Your Voice, Your Town asks you to be involved in the decisions that are made about where you live and take the lead in making that change happen.

Every town has unique needs, and residents have shared their wish lists for improvements like community facilities, better housing, safer neighbourhoods, job opportunities, and cleaner towns.

In the first phase there will be an investment of £480,000* across the 7 towns (*Budgets are set by size of town population) for projects to take shape in 2025. This is just the beginning and there will be funding for future years.

Thames Reach has small grants available of £1000 to £15000 to support Hounslow charities or community groups to assist local people who have been working with Hounslow Reach.

The grants are for projects to improve their sense of wellbeing and community and should last at least a year.

Thames Reach’s mission is to help people who are homeless or vulnerable to find decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives.

Hounslow Reach (part of Thames Reach) provides advice and support to people in Hounslow on behalf of the London Borough of Hounslow.

The service assists Hounslow residents, aged 18 and over, who may have mental or physical health needs, or a learning disability.
With help to:

• maintain their accommodation
• develop skills, such as budgeting
• enhance their confidence
• improve their physical and mental wellbeing
• build links in their local community
• live a more fulfilling and independent life
