Workshop Description
Census takes place on 21st March 2021. All households will receive a census letter and must complete the census. Huge funding decisions at national and local level are made on the basis of census data. So it’s vital that everyone in our community is counted to get the services they need such as healthcare, education, transport and housing.
This workshop is designed for Ealing borough community groups, volunteers and support workers to understand the detail of what people need to do to complete the census questionnaire.
· You will see the questionnaire
· You will get details on the support that can be accessed from the national contact centre e.g. telephone completion, language and accessibility support.
· You will understand how the data is kept safe by law and that it remains anonymous meaning that no individual’s data can be shared
· Plenty of time will be made available for questions
This workshop will be run by Jane Ward and John Usher, who work for the Office for National Statistics and are the Census Engagement Managers for Ealing, working in partnership with Ealing Council across the whole borough.

International Women’s Day
Join us to celebrate International WomenÂ’s Day 2021
International WomenÂ’s Day, on Monday 8 March is an annual celebration which recognises and showcases the achievements of women world over. Â In recognition of this day, Hounslow Council would like to invite you to a virtual event on Wednesday 10 March 2021.
This yearÂ’s theme is #ChooseToChallenge and the event aims to help raise awareness of the impact of COVID-19 on women in the community along with exploring issues around domestic violence, particularly during the pandemic.
Cllr Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Communities and Climate Emergency said: “ We are proud to support International Women’s Day, a day that brings together women from all continents, often divided by national boundaries and ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences.
“As a Council we challenge inequality and gender bias, working towards a future where every womanÂ’s voice, role, and contribution are visible and valued – so let’s all choose to challenge.
“We have a fantastic line up of speakers for the event and I would like to invite you all to join in and hear from these inspirational women.”
Topics at the event will range from the impact of COVID-19 on women in the borough to women in sport along with readings from Monuments, an anthology written by Hounslow Action for Youth. There will also be a Q&A for attendees to ask questions and engage with the panellists.
Panellists include Aldona Zywicka-Thornton, Hounslow Parent/Carer Forum, Oonah Lacey, a volunteer at food banks across the borough and Natalie Sexton, a Harlequin coach and Hounslow resident.
