£1.35m funding for Pocket Parks in England

Community-led organisations working in partnership with local authorities across England can apply now for grants of up to:

•           £15,000 for new pocket parks.

•           £25,000 for refurbishment of existing parks.

Match funding of a minimum of 30% is required. Funding should be spent by 31 March 2020. Match funding can take the form of financial support, materials or labour.

The funding can support, but is not limited to:

•           Capital – support to prepare a site, earth-works, landscaping, tree planting, structural works.

•           Resource – to secure support from relevant experts (landscape architects, lawyers, horticulturalists or wider green sector experts).

Applicants might include friendsÂ’ groups, tenants or residentsÂ’ groups, voluntary and community organisations or even Business Improvement Districts.

Women and Girls Network: Child Sexual Exploitation Training

Women and Girls Network has developed this short course aimed at Practitioners who are working directly with or are responsible for the safeguarding of young people in the Borough of Hounslow.
Our course has been designed to focus specifically on working with girls and young women.
The day course will support you with the following:

  • Defining what Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) is
  • Exploring attitudes regarding CSE whilst challenging myths and stereotypes
  • Understanding risk and vulnerability factors
  • Recognising indicators and signs of risk or involvement in CSE
  • Providing an insight into grooming techniques and profiles of perpetrators
  • Understanding trauma responses from a neuroscience perspective
  • Exploring the impact of the work on self through vicarious trauma

Ecclesiastical's 12 days of giving

Ecclesiastical’s 12 days of giving is designed to provide vital funding to charities by donating £1,000 to 120 charities over 12 days in the run up to Christmas.

Nominate a charity

With your support, people’s lives could be changed for the better. You can nominate any UK or Irish registered charity you choose and nominations will remain open until midnight the day before each draw. Draws will take place each weekday from 5 – 20 December 2019.
The more nominations a charity receives the greater the chance of them winning, So please do spread the word and encourage your friends, family, colleagues and anyone else you can think of to nominate too!
