VCSE health and wellbeing fund 2019 to 2020
Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations can apply for funding to run projects focused on improving children and young peopleÂ’s mental health.
Applications are invited from existing schemes to trial a new approach to helping children and young people with their mental health. The deadline for applications is midday on Friday 15 February 2019.
Projects should:
- adopt community and person-centred approaches to improving the mental health of children and young people aged 0 to 25 years
- particularly support children and young people through life-changing events
- have strong local connections already in place
- be delivered by the VCSE sector
- be co-produced with service users and stakeholders
Through this programme, the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and Public Health England are working with VCSE organisations to promote equality, address health inequalities and support the wellbeing of people, families and communities.

CouncilÂ’s Personal Budgeting & Digital Support Officer
The PBS & Digital Support Officer  provide support to residents in making and managing their Universal Credit claim including accessing and using on-line services. The officer is  responsible for providing advice, information and assistance around debt and the management of their finances. The role involves supporting  residents through individual or in-group personal budget sessions , investigating claimant’s financial and personal situation including digital skills and work with them to enhance their financial capability. The budgeting sessions helps residents to  identify alternative ways to save money and how their financial choices affect their lifestyle. Around 75% of the clients  were intrigued when they discovered  how much they can save by making slight changes in their choices like switching to sim only plan rather an upgrade, Freeview instead of Sky, alternative sources of emergency funding rather than taking overdrafts or going to money lenders. The PBS & Digital Support officer aims to educate them on the financial choices they have and how make the most of it. In the end every little helps.
