Volunteer Tutors Required
Published on: 22 September 2021
Learn English at Home (LEAH) is looking for volunteer tutors who can help refugees, asylum seekers and migrants improve their English skills as well as feel more integrated into their local community. At the moment we are working remotely so 1:1 lessons and classes are all taking place over Zoom.
We provide full training so no teaching experience is necessary. We positively encourage those who speak English as a second language to volunteer with us. Our online training course covers everything you need to know. Once you are matched with a student, you also have ongoing support from one of our team. We will also support you with topics, appropriate resources and teaching strategies.
All we ask for is that you have the time to provide one lesson a week during office hours ( Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) and can commit to a minimum of six months tutoring once youÂ’ve been paired up with a student.
Our next training course will be taking place in November. If you would like to find out more please contact Laura Burt, Volunteer Coordinator on volunteercoordinator@leah.org.uk
