The QueenÂ’s Award for Voluntary Service

The QueenÂ’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) is the equivalent of the MBE for voluntary groups and the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK. Organisations chosen for the QAVS receive a Crystal Trophy, a certificate signed by The Queen and an invitation to a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace
Eligibility
Any group doing voluntary work that provides a social, welfare, economic or environmental service to the local community can be nominated for the award.

• The group must be based in the UK
• It must have been operating for at least three years
• More than half its members must be volunteers with a right of residence in the UK.

Making a nomination
Members of a voluntary organisation cannot nominate themselves for an Award, but anybody outside the organisation can using the QAVS website between April and September.
