The West London Queer Project (WLQP) is a non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) driven by the desire to connect, support and give voice to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and other sexual and gender identifying (LGBTQ+) people in West London.

Our organisation aims to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people in West London and beyond.

We offer fun events, a safe space, a welcoming, supportive and safe environment to uplift, empower, and connect as well as advocacy, awareness-raising and change making activities among local policy-makers.

23/24 £150,000 Community Engagement Fund is now open for applications (1^st August 2023).  All applications must be received by 4pm on 30^th August date 2023.  

The Community Engagement Fund is a grant funding to support grassroot organisations and community groups to: 

·      Raise awareness of, and address any misinformation on, the Windrush Schemes, with a focus on non-Caribbean communities 

·      Build on the insights and learning taken from our existing work on Windrush to understand why individuals are not applying for the Windrush Schemes. 

The Fund will award between £5,000 and £10,000 per project and all projects must be delivered by 29^th March 2024 to ensure that all funding is spent before the end of the financial year. 

We are keen to ensure we are supporting community groups and organisations wherever we can and therefore, where funding is available, we would like to ensure this is used to directly support these groups.  

Given the amount of funding available and the shorter timelines concerned, this Fund will be best suited to support smaller, more discrete projects which can be delivered within tighter timelines.

We are holding two information sessions – Tuesday 8th August from 14.00-15.30pm; and Thursday 10th August from 11.00-12.30pm, to give organisations the opportunity to obtain information about the grant fund and ask questions.? Following the recommendations for grant awards for the 2023-27 VCS funding programme, we are pleased to announce that applications are now open for additional grants where the available budgets have not been fully allocated. These grants are

·         Talking therapies for people with common mental health needs – grants of up to £38,500 p.a.

·         Carers short breaks – single grant of up to £320,000 p.a.

·         Short breaks for children and young people with disabilities – grants of up to £36,300 p.a.

The closing date for receipt of all applications is 5.00pm on Tuesday 5^th September 2023. Late applications will not be accepted. Full details are available now on the council website.

Please note that the awarding of these grants will be subject to the outcome of the ongoing appeals process for the first round of applications.

Southall Community Alliance (SCA) is a charity that has been working in Southall for
over 30 years. We now seek an enthusiastic and experienced Community Projects
Manager to oversee the project work of our charity over the next three years.

The Crane Valley Grant Programme is part of Thames Water’s Smarter Water Catchments initiative.  The programme recognises that grassroots, community, environmental and conservation groups, often focusing on a particular area, are uniquely placed to carry out works and projects which will bring a wide range of benefits, including those contained within the River Crane Smarter Water Catchment Plan and its Update.

It aims to ensure that the benefits of the programme are enjoyed by all communities in the Crane Valley area, and that, alongside physical works, elements such as education, awareness raising, research and development, organisational costs and feasibility are also supported. Heathrow Community Trust’s Communities Together Small grant programme will soon be open for its second grant round of 2023. Below are the details, which I would be grateful if you could share with your networks.

The Communities Together Small Round 2 will open on 1 August 2023 for grants of up to £5,000 for projects with a total cost of up to £20,000.  This round closes on 3 October 2023 at 10am.

The programme has 3 themes, and projects must demonstrate a fit with one theme:

·     S1 Protecting and enhancing our local environment

·     S2 Bringing communities together and increasing community cohesion

·     S3 Improving quality of life through increasing social inclusion

·     S4 Improving community facilities for all

PURPOSE OF THE POST

•To give infrastructure support to local voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and social enterprises to enable them to develop and fundraise.

•The Group Development Service works with local groups to assist them to support the communities they serve more effectively. This involves one-to-one meetings with groups at EHCVS premises and outreach activity. On occasion the meetings can be set remotely on-line, emails and by telephone, dependent on the needs and practicalities.
