Satellite club delivery (Funding opportunity)
Published on: 14 May 2018
London Sport are now accepting expressions of interest for the delivery of new satellite clubs…
We are now encouraging organisations to express an interest in delivering a satellite club. As a first point of call organisations are required to read through the guidance notes on our website that details essential criteria that any delivery plan must meet. These are the minimum expectations as part of Satellite Club funding Satellite Club guidance.
One of the rationales behind the Satellite Club intervention is to engage with young people who may not normally have the chance to participate in physical activity. This can be down to a number of environmental, behavioural, or social barriers; we have therefore decided to prioritise applications that focus their delivery within the top 50% most deprived wards in London. Organisations can check if their venue is in the 50% – note that the blue areas indicate our focus Top 50% deprived wards
Before completing a delivery plan all organisations MUST complete the online Youth Personalities training. This will only take around 15minutes and will assist with engagement techniques and best practice delivery for young people. Organisations can complete the online training by clicking here and using the key: S8
Once the above has been completed organisations can then submit their delivery plan using our new online grant management tool. They will need to create an initial login and profile. All delivery plans will need to be completed and submitted NO LATER THAN THE 14th JUNE 2018. A scoring process will take place after this deadline and all organisations will be notified of their applicationÂ’s success/failure by the end of June. Due to demand it is anticipated that a maximum of one Satellite Club per applicant will be eligible to receive funding.
