Inspire Hounslow Trustee Vacancies
Inspire Hounslow is looking for new volunteer trustees to join our Board.
We focus exclusively on giving grants to projects run for the benefit of the residents of Hounslow, with particular emphasis on the needs of young people. Applicants must have a strong understanding of the issues within our local community and will probably live or work within or very close to the Borough.
A knowledge of accounting, law, or charity governance would be particularly beneficial to us, but other types of expertise are also welcome.
Trustees have overall responsibility for governance of Inspire Hounslow as a registered charity; complying with the relevant laws and being financially prudent and effective in meeting our charitable objectives. Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate relevant experience, skills and expertise that can contribute towards these purposes, as well as the ability to work effectively within the team of approximately 10 Trustees.
In addition, each project which we fund is appointed a Lead Trustee to liaise with and oversee it, giving us a unique opportunity to have hands-on involvement with the projects we fund.
The Board meets monthly on a Tuesday evening in the centre of the Borough. In between meetings we carry out specific tasks in small groups, usually via Zoom, and also work for a few hours each week via email.
If you are interested in applying for this voluntary position, please email gill@inspirehounslow.co.uk for more information or an application form.
Formal Board Meeting Support
Inspire Hounslow is a grant-giving charity which focuses on providing funds to charities and not-for-profit organisations in the borough to run grass-roots projects, with particular emphasis on the needs of young people.
We are looking for someone to help our Trustee Board with meeting support (agenda planning, taking minutes, chasing actions) and some governance elements (policies, the risk register, contact with Companies House, Charities Commission).
You will have experience of taking accurate minutes and you may also have some experience of governance or legal issues. You will be able to dedicate about four hours a week to helping us. You may be retired, work part-time, be between jobs, or possibly have a portfolio of different activities and will understand the issues with minimal guidance. You will work mainly from home, but you will need to attend our monthly board meetings, which are held in Hounslow on a Tuesday evening.
If you are interested in applying for this voluntary position, please email gill@inspirehounslow.co.uk for more information.
