International WomenÂ’s Day

Hounslow Council would like to invite you to celebrate International WomenÂ’s Day with its third sector community groups, residents and staff.

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call for action for accelerating women’s equality. The theme for this year is ‘#EmbraceEquity’.

Equity recognises that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome. The theme for 2023 has been selected to highlight the importance of collective activism, through challenging gender stereotypes, calling out discrimination, drawing attention to bias and seeking out inclusion. Forging gender equity is not limited to solely women; allies are incredibly important for the social, economic, cultural and political advancement of women too.
