CPP Summer Picnic at Heston Community Garden – Sunday 13th July
Creative People and Places (CPP) are hosting a Summer Picnic at Heston Community Garden (Sutton Playing Fields) on Sunday 13th July from 11:00am to 2:00pm, celebrating the culmination of their Market Stories project.
The entrance to the garden is between 35-37 The Crossways, Hounslow TW5 0JH.
Come and experience a range of fun, family-friendly activities, including:
- A garden tour with Heston Action Group
- Art workshops with Alexis Parinas and Lalita Bailey
- A meet-up with members of the Heston & Cranford Local Advisory Group
- Sample tasty local food and share your own recipes

- Learn more about CPP Hounslow and connect other volunteers

CALLING BLACK WOMEN IN EALING: Your Story. Your Voice. Your Truth.
My name is Anne-Marie Waugh — CEO, mentor, community leader, and a Black woman who has navigated the harsh realities of leading within systems that were never designed with us in mind.
Through my peer-led research project Exit Wounds: Black Women, Organisational Harm, and the Health Impact of Leading in Inequitable Systems (funded by Ealing’s Roots & Wings programme), I am creating a space to centre our lived experience — the cost of survival, the weight of leadership, and the silent toll it takes on our wellbeing.
If you are a Black woman, living, working or leading in Ealing, past or present, I want to hear from you.
Have you:
Led through harm?
Survived a toxic culture?
Felt your health decline due to your work environment?
Then you are not alone, and your story is vital.

Testimonies — named or anonymous — from Black women who’ve worked or live in Ealing.
Stories about emotional, mental, or physical health impacts.
Examples of harm, resilience, recovery, or how you found support.

You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. All stories will be treated with dignity, confidentiality, and care. No identifying details will ever be published without your clear consent.
