THE ROLE
Cultivate London is seeking a dynamic Director of Community and Young People to lead and expand our community engagement and youth programmes, advancing the organisation’s charitable aims. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to shape, develop, and deliver educational initiatives across a diverse range of community gardens and project spaces in West London.
Location: Isleworth, Acton, Hanwell, and various other community sites in West London
Hours: Part-time, permanent employment (minimum 2 days per week), with potential to expand; core hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. Occasional evening or weekend work will be required, with time off in lieu.
Salary: Competitive.

Hounslow Council will celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month with special event
The event is part of celebrations for LGBTQ+ History Month in February. Â
Residents across Hounslow are invited to attend an LGBTQ+ event on Wednesday 5 February at Hounslow House, hosted by Hounslow Council and its LGBTQ+ Advisory Group. The event will mark LGBTQ+ History month and celebrate the activism of the LGBTQ+ community and social change brought by their efforts in their quest for equality. Â
LGBTQ+ community groups and charities will outline how they support LGBTQ+ residents and celebrate their role in Hounslow so far. Â
Keynote speakers include Â
- Founder and CEO of West London Queer Project, that aims to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people in West London and beyond, offering fun events, a safe space, a welcoming, supportive and safe environment. Â
- Communication and Campaigns Lead from Galop , which have supported LGBTQ+ people experiencing hate crime, domestic abuse, and sexual violence. Â
- Groupwork Lead from project Cherish Hounslow – part of Metro Charity, which provides mental health support for LGBTQ+ people who live, work, or study in Hounslow. Â
- Engagement Team from LGBTQ+ Consortium, supporting LGBTQ+ organisations and groups
Along with the keynote speakers, the event will also highlight a special speech by NAZ Charity CEO and Co-chair of the LGBTQ+ Advisory Forum, Parminder Sekhon, on the importance of Zero HIV Stigma Day. Â
The event will also host a quiz that highlights the momentous activism of the LGBTQ+ community. Â

TMTTR – Winter Trail Walk
Come on a walk with us on a part of the Crane Trail and discover the magic of the River Crane as part of the Take me to the River Project. Starting at Avenue Park in Cranford, we’ll walk along the River Crane to Crane Park in Hanworth.
Enjoy different habitats as we walk along the river and learn about some interesting history and wildlife along the way.
Bring walking shoes and water bottle. There are bus routes along the way if you can only join us for part of the journey
Workshop running in partnership with Habitats and Heritage and London Borough of Hounslow.

Bird Watching Walk:
Join us on a gentle walk and learn how to identify different birds in Waye Avenue Open Space. We will look for birds on the banks of the River Crane. Find out how to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. We will be joined by London Wildlife Trust.
