Carers webinars for managing challenging behaviour – info attached
Fortnightly, bite-sized webinars led by experienced positive behaviour support practitioners from HRCH. Carers can learn about strategies for managing challenging behaviour and improving communication with the adult or child they look after.
Next webinar is this Friday 18th on using visual supports for children and adults to communicate their needs and make sense of the world around them

Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund open until 31 January
The RRLF scheme is intended for organisations with a minimum turnover of £400k where the organisation has been disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it’s set up to make the government Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) more accessible to charities and social enterprises.
Key features are:
- Funding packages from £100k to £1.5m
- Loans available from 1 to 5 years
- Assessed on a case by case basis alongside the loan, grants that are awarded range in size from £40k – £300k and can be 20% to 40% of the loan amount.
- All loan interest and fees covered by the government for the first 12 months
- All loans come with a 12-month capital repayment holiday and no early repayment fees
- Loans up to £250k unsecured, and above that a simple fixed and floating debenture will be taken
- All purposes considered except refinancing existing debt.

New funding for mental health projects
Hounslow Council is working with the NHS to provide a new funding programme for projects that improve the mental health of people living in Hounslow. The Hounslow Response – Mental Health Fund is open for applications from 14 December 2020 and provides funding of up to £50,000 for projects run by voluntary and community organisations supporting the wellbeing of people with moderate to severe mental illness.
Priority areas that we would like to fund are:
- Services that improve the mental wellbeing of the local BAME population, residents who identify as LGBT+ and people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Support to residents who have experienced trauma, particularly those whose first language is not English and where their trauma relates to migration issues.
Applications can be made from Monday 14 December 2020. The deadline for applications is Monday 25 January 2021 (9am).

West London has an ambition to become a beacon of excellence for volunteering to enable volunteers to complement and enhance the services we provide to both patients and our staff. The Volunteer Service will be a new service for our Trust and this is a new role, providing the opportunity for the right candidate, to really make a difference and shape and establish a new and valuable service. NHS are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to develop our volunteer strategy and build this service with an aim of launching our first Volunteer scheme in the late spring of 2021.

Make London is here. Pitch for up to £50k to help crowdfund your community project
ItÂ’s been a tough year for our city, the pandemic has taken its toll on LondonerÂ’s mental health, social connections, high streets and neighbourhoods. As well as highlighted the need for quality outdoor spaces everywhere, new ways of coming together safely, and clever ideas and experimentation to help our town centres and neighbourhoods recover.
But what this pandemic has already shown is that weÂ’re at our strongest when Londoners stand together.
Now more than ever, London needs new ideas, creators, doers and makers to help our city recover and grow stronger.
ThatÂ’s why the Mayor of London launched Make London – a brand new £500k crowdfunding initiative to support and empower Londoners to play a leading role in our recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.
It’s designed to help support grassroots organisations, community groups, social enterprises and many more across the city by making funding of up to £50,000 available for local projects that help to enhance our public spaces, promote participation in art and culture, and
regenerate our high streets.
The deadline to pitch your idea to the Mayor of London is 28th January 2021. In advance of this, programme partners Spacehive is running a series of online drop-in sessions to help you get your application ready.

Southall Canalside Improvements: have your say
Canal & River Trust, with the support of Ealing Council and the LetÂ’s Go Southall (Sport England funded) project are currently undertaking a feasibility study into towpath and access improvements in Southall
As part of this project Canal & River Trust are also exploring the opportunities to create better canalside spaces at five focus areas around Southall. We have launched a community conversation on this and encourage you to give us your thoughts to help us shape the vision for each area before we try to secure funding to put them into place.
