Tell us what you think HounslowÂ’s Scrutiny Committees should review this year
Scrutiny is one of the ways councillors can provide constructive challenge and amplify the voice of local residents.
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee and its three Scrutiny Panels consider the work of the council and the wider public sector, with a clear focus on improving public services. Learn more about these Panels here.
If you are concerned about an issue affecting a number of people that is not being addressed or a service that is not delivering its outcomes, then tell us about it.
Some of the topics discussed last year included knife carrying by young people in Hounslow, fly-tipping, contract management, homelessness and the new Met Police model.
Email your suggestions to  Scrutiny@hounslow.gov.uk or send us a Scrutiny Referral Form on our website.

Be a Pitch Advisor on National Citizen Service (NCS) Summer – 2019!
As a Pitch Advisor for one of our DragonsÂ’ Den style pitches on our NCS programme you will see between 5-9 teams of 15 to 17 year olds who will pitch their ideas for improving their community (all funding is provided by NCS). Your role will be to give the teams feedback and decide on how much funding to give them.
The pitch comes at the end of an intense few days of planning in which the young people have learnt a lot about themselves and have challenged themselves to develop personally. They have also explored how they can have a positive impact on their communities by being active citizens.
Each team has been planning a social action project. They now have the chance to present their strategy and ideas to you so they can turn their plans into a reality. On this day you make a huge difference in two ways:
– Your questions & feedback help improve the quality of Social Action projects.
– Your presence as part of an influential panel demonstrates to the young people that their Social Action projects are important, and this encourages accountability.
