The Building a Stronger Britain Together (BSBT) programme was set up to support civil society and community organisations who work to create more resilient communities, stand up to extremism in all of its forms and to offer vulnerable individuals a positive alternative.

The latest call for applications for grant funding through the Building a Stronger Britain Together programme opened yesterday. Applications need to be received by 5pm on Friday 16 February. If you applied for funding in rounds 1 and 2, you may apply for funding in round 3. You can also apply for funding if you have been or are in receipt of in-kind communications support.

They anticipate that this will be the most competitive round to date and therefore stress that applications:
• fulfil at least one or more of the BSBT eligibility outcomes:
1.fewer people holding attitudes, beliefs and feelings that oppose shared values;
2.an increased sense of belonging and civic participation at the local level;
3.more resilient communities.
• clearly states how the bid relates to countering extremism related harms beyond terrorism and radicalisation (this is not Prevent);
• what activities are being suggested and why, including any possible evidence of such activities working in the past);
• why the project is important, how it links with work already being carried out and (if applicable) how it will link to future work/plans;
• any plans for future sustainability;
Grants are offered in two ranges, £1,000 – £14,999 and £15,000 – £50,000, depending upon the size of the organisation applying.
