New HVSSS Funding Officer
Mustafa Arrale has had to leave HVSSS and is no longer the Funding and Group Development Officer in Hounslow. The new Funding and Group Development Officer is Iain Elliott who knows the borough well, having supported Hounslow Community Network for the past few years. You can contact him on iain@ealingcvs.org.uk
Freshwater Foundation
‘We are the Freshwater Foundation, a small grant-making charity based in West London and our new grant round is now open for applications, deadline 28th January, 2019.
We are aiming to support small to medium-sized voluntary and community organisations in Ealing and Hounslow with grants for small-scale projects, infrastructure spending and any other charitable work.
We would strongly recommend early submission of applications. Demand for funds is likely to greatly outstrip supply so only the strongest applications are likely to succeed. Even if a proposal is very worthy, it is likely to falter if not well argued and documented. Early application means that we will have time to help you with this and to present the strongest case possible for your proposal. If you are thinking of applying, then your best first step is to contact us at info@freshwaterfoundation.org.uk and we can arrange to discuss your application on the phone and give it the best start possible.
We are also looking at offering advice and tuition on various management, technical and legal topics of interest to voluntary and community groups and so would be glad to hear of your needs in these areas.

1. Raising awareness of the Big Lottery Fund – funding programmes
2. Help you to write a better application
3. Understand the common mistakes applicants make
4. An opportunity to discuss challenges and ask questions directly to Big Lottery Fund staff.

Hounslow Crowdfunding Workshop for Project Creators
I would appreciate it if you could share the registration and information for our November workshop for new project creators, who will find out more about the Our Hounslow crowdfunding programme, and how they can successfully fund their idea. There is up to £5k available from the council to pledge to projects, as well as grants from some our other funds such as Esmee Fairbairn and GLL.
A bit of news, Our Hounslow is doing this as part of a funding round, meaning that anyone who wants to receive a pledge from the council as part of their campaign will need to have submitted their project by 7 December, and start their crowdfunding campaign by 14 January 2019.
The workshop is on Tuesday 6 November at Watermans Art Centre. If you could pass this around your networks and encourage anyone you think would be a good fit to learn more about the programme, I would be very grateful.
