Christmas Emergency Provision: Find Local Support in London
We know that many people find themselves in need at this time. We also know that many personal and emergency services are closed or scaled back over the Bank Holiday period so, as last year, and together with London Plus and GLA colleagues, we have created a resource document of local links across London. The services noted are mainly run by local councils and are open over the Christmas break and/or bank holidays. The document is split by borough but there is also a pan London section at the bottom. For the link to the document please click
https://londonplus.org/news/christmas-emergency-provision-find-local-support-in-london .
These services are subject to change, and we will be updating the document to reflect this. If you have any additional information you feel may be relevant, please send it to info@londonplus.org and we can add it to the document.

A SAFER EALING FOR WOMEN- A LISTENING EXERCISE-SAFER EALING PARTNERSHIP (SEP)
The Safer Ealing Partnership (SEP) wants to hear from the boroughs women and girls about how safe they feel in Ealings public spaces.
In the wake of the recent tragic murders of several women in public spaces across London, womens safety has become a national issue.
Across the UK, 97% of women aged 18-24 have reported experiencing harassment in public.
In response, the SEP is launching an in-depth listening exercise, which includes a confidential online survey, where women and girls in Ealing
are encouraged to share their thoughts. The survey launches on the last day of the UN Women 16 days of activism against gender-based
violence.
The four key themes the SEP will consider are:
What role the Safer Ealing Partnership should play in creating safe spaces for women and girls
The places in the borough where women and girls say they feel unsafe
The experiences of harassment and abuse of women and girls in the borough
Womens experience of reporting incidents.
The survey runs until 4 February. There is also the opportunity to ask to take part in a focus group where these issues will be discussed in
greater depth.
The responses will help to inform SEPs violence against women and girls strategy, which is due to be published next year.
Fighting inequality is one of the councils three priorities. Working with the SEP to make the borough safer for women and girls is one of the
ways that the council is looking to achieve this goal.
