Welcome to the State of the Sector Survey for the voluntary, community and social enterprises working in the London Borough of Ealing. The survey is being carried out jointly by Ealing & Hounslow CVS, London Borough of Ealing and Integrated Care Partnership (formally Ealing CCG).

This survey will allow you to feedback on valuable information about your work in the community and let us know what support and help you need going forward.

Shaping Ealing- we need your Views -Suvey now LAUNCHED

Survey now launched – We want residents, businesses and others to help us shape Ealing and the towns within it, by joining a dedicated conversation to put your priorities under the spotlight.

Shaping Ealing is an engagement activity that includes a series of conversations, surveys and formal and informal meetings by us, to gather feedback to inform the Local Plan.

The Local Plan is one of the key documents drawn up by the local planning authority, that will be used to shape how the borough could look over the next 15 years.

The important work of setting the future priorities of Ealing as a borough can only be done with the input and feedback of its’ residents and businesses. We want to ensure that the views of everyone across the borough in all of its towns are heard, so we can consider how best to meet the needs of all people on a boroughwide basis. We need this targeted information as part of considered decisions that inform the Local Plan.

Break the Stigma: Sickle Cell & Blood Donation’ Wednesday 26th January at 6:30pm on Zoom.

We will be joined by Calvin Campbell, NHS Blood and Transplant, Events and Outreach Officer and Dr Grace Redhead, who will be speaking around the history of blood donation and the context for low uptake in Black British communities, how this has impacted attitudes today and blood donation’s particular importance for sickle cell. We will be opening this event up for questions from the audience before closing.

ActForEaling’s Photography Competition Celebration and Launch Event

On Saturday 22nd January, ActForEaling, Ealing’s newest community climate action hub, hosted an in-person celebration of their inaugural 2021 photography competition at OPEN Ealing’s gallery space in Dickens Yard, Ealing Broadway.

ActForEaling is a community-led central hub for anyone interested in climate action in Ealing.  Using digital platforms, ActFroEaling promote and celebrate climate action that takes place in the London Borough of Ealing to encourage more residents to get involved in climate action taking place on their doorstep. The event was well attended and saw the photography competition winners (listed below), ActForEaling’s local partners, local councillors, and Ealing Central and Acton MP Rupa Huq come together to celebrate the winning entries, learn more about ActForEaling and its local partners, and discuss areas of collaboration on future work.

After some time for guests to settle and examine the information and photographs on display, ActForEaling steering group member, Trevor Sharman gave a presentation on ActForEaling and the work the group have been carrying out. Trevor went on to call on the guests to support ActForEaling in the future by connecting via their online platforms and keep on top of future AFE plans.

Then, Sarah Hadland, treasurer of AFE partner The Selborne Society, presented the winners with their certificates and recounted the panel of judges’ comments as to why they won. Following this, she went on to announce the prize the winners had won, a guided tour around conservation site Perivale Wood to take some photographs. You can see details of the prize here.

To wrap up, ActForEaling members Natalie and Enid, along with ActForEaling coordinator Daniel, recounted their experiences of attending COP26 in Glasgow in November. They relayed back to the group on their individual highlights of attending the conference, what they learned from being at the conference and how the experience has inspired them to drive forward with climate action in Ealing from the perspective of different generations.
