Job Vacancy: Part -Time Vehicle Coordinator

A vacancy has arisen with Hounslow Community Transport (HCT) for the part-time post of Vehicle Coordinator. HCT is a local charity that was founded over thirty years ago and is based in the centre of Hounslow. HCT currently operates a fleet of seven minibuses and a delivery van.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining all HCT’s vehicles ensuring that they are operated safely, legally and efficiently. In addition, the post holder is responsible for preparing minibuses for bookings eg removing seats to allow space for wheelchair passengers.
The post holder will be required to work usually four days each week – Monday to Thursday – from 830am to 1130am. Working on additional days and for additional hours might be required depending on the nature of the vehicle bookings in any given week.
The post will suit someone with considerable experience in operating and maintaining vehicles.
The rate of pay is £11 per hour with  an annual holiday entitlement pro rata based on 28 days each year in addition to statutory and public holidays.

Launch of ABUSE Campaign

The London Borough of Hounslow and Hounslow Safeguarding Adults Board are launching a new campaign on Monday 3rd April encouraging residents to look out for and report abuse of vulnerable adults.
The safeguarding awareness campaign aims to inform people about what adult abuse is, where to go for support and how to stop it happening. In and around the borough you will see a series of bus stop posters promoting the need to look out for and report abuse, with the tagline – ABUSE: SEE IT, HEAR IT, STOP IT. There will also be a new advice leaflet which will be available throughout the borough and online at www.hounslow.gov.uk.

Life Chances Fund Information Events

The Big Lottery Fund is administering the £80m Life Chances Fund (LCF) on behalf of the Office for Civil Society.  
The Life Chances Fund (LCF) supports payment-by-results contracts where the initial funding is provided by social investors. These contracts are called Social Impact Bonds (SIBs), and one of the aims of the programme is to grow the SIB market across the UK. SIBs allow for socially innovative interventions to be delivered by commissioners without putting themselves at financial risk, and the outcomes based payment system helps to generate cashable savings. The aim is to help people in society who face the most significant barriers to leading happy and productive lives, and it is expected that LCF will typically provide a £1-2m subsidy for proposals.
They are looking to fund intervention services aimed at early stage prevention in particular policy areas, with proposals ideally being led by a commissioner. The social policy themes for this final round of funding are Older People’s Services and Healthy Lives. The deadline for your expression of interest is 31 July 2017, with a deadline of 30 April 2018 for submission of the full application.
There is also an innovation strand for projects which fall outside of the themed policy areas but still fit with the Fund’s wider outcomes; some examples may be proposals preventing damage to the environment, preventative projects promoting women’s needs, preventative projects targeting refugees and asylum seekers or victims of domestic abuse, or promoting victim support.
They will be running six free events in June focusing on Older People’s Services and Healthy Lives which they would like to invite a representative of your organisation to attend. In addition to information delivered by the Fund, there will be presentations from investors and commissioners who are either developing or delivering SIB proposals. This will be an excellent opportunity for finding out more about LCF and networking with other interested parties.

Catch22 has recently been commissioned by the ESF and SFA to run the London Youth Programme West London (Borough of Ealing and Hounslow).  Catch22 are able to support your caseloads move closer to the job market and into paid sustainable work for 18 – 24 year olds. Job Vacancy: Part-time Marketing Manager

The post holder, reporting directly to the Chief Officer of Hounslow Community Transport (HCT), will be a person with considerable marketing and communications experience.
HCT is a local charity founded over thirty years ago.
The post is for one day a week – Friday (830am to 430pm) – and is initially for one year.
The overall purpose of the role is to plan and undertake marketing and PR activity to increase the usage of the various services that HCT provides.
The services that HCT provides are:
·         Hounslow Furniture Project
·         Minibus Hire
·         Shopmobility
·         MiDAS Training (Minibus driver training)
In addition, the post holder will be responsible for keeping the HCT website up to date and for coming up with and implementing ideas to improve the effectiveness of the website in promoting HCT services.
