Black History Month 365 Fund
Published on: 1 October 2021
Black History Month (1-31 October) is almost here and to celebrate, we’d like to tell you about Black History Month 365, an exciting new fund that A2Dominion has just launched in partnership with Catalyst Housing and Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing.
This fund provides grants of up to £500 throughout the year for events, activities and projects celebrating black history; it is open to applications from residents, community groups, schools and local organisations.
The aims of the fund are to:
1.       Bring communities together to mark and celebrate our shared history
2.       Promote the awareness and knowledge of black history
3.       Celebrate the achievements and contributions from individuals of African and Caribbean heritage
4.       Specifically engage Catalyst, Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing and A2Dominion communities and residentsÂ
The deadline for first round applications is Monday 4th October 2021 to coincide with this year’s Black History Month, the theme of which is “Proud To Be”.
If your organisation or a community group that you know of is planning a Black History event (not just during Black History Month) and could benefit from some extra funding, please let them know about the fund and put in an application. You will need to complete the short application form (attached) and return it to caroline.wolff@a2dominion.co.uk or marisa.fletcher-patrick@a2dominion.co.uk by the deadline above to be considered for the first round of funding. Further rounds will be announced throughout the year.
