Volunteer at West Ealing Library

We are looking for volunteers to join the team when we open the West Ealing Community Managed Library and Advice & Rescue Hub from 22 June.

What can I expect as a Library and Hub Volunteer?

You will be joining a lively team of staff and volunteers committed to making a difference in the lives of people in Ealing.  Residents will be keen to get into the library after such a long closure period due to Covid-19. Volunteers will be welcoming them back and providing them with regular library services, helping them to use one of the available computers and booking appointments with one of our specialist advisers in the Advice & Rescue Hub. In time the library will also host regular events supported by the volunteers.   No two days will be the same but our aim is that the volunteer team will find ever day rewarding and fun.

What training will I receive?

Volunteers will learn how to support library users whether that are checking out a book, using one of the library computers or booking an appointment to see one of our specialist advisers in the Advice & Rescue Hub.  Training will include:

Library and Hub systems

Digital access and support skills

Health and Safety

Safeguarding

Customer care and communications

How do I get started?

Register your interest in the volunteering section of the website and we will get back to you with further information.
