The Localism Act – how can it be used effectively to support housing needs?

The Localism Act 2011 was instrumental in empowering Councils to influence how social housing is offered and managed in their local area. The Act placed a duty on local housing authorities to produce a tenancy strategy. The purpose of the strategy is to communicate local housing need and, how the offer of social housing should support the Council’s overall vision to meet housing need.
