Rise Up Leadership programme
Published on: 24 January 2022
We are open for recruitment for the second round of our Rise Up Leadership Programme, with applications being taking until 9am on Monday 07th February. Rise Up is:
- Funded by the Mayor of London’s Violence Reduction Unit and aimed at developing the skills, knowledge and networks of frontline youth practitioners in London who are working with young people at risk of violence
- Open to members and non-members of London Youth (so your networks 100% applicable for this!)
- Designed to be interactive and accessible. We are particularly interested in applications from those without formal qualifications in youth work and who have not previously held leadership positions.
- An intensive programme, involving 20+ weeks of specialist training, coaching and mentoring. (Sessions will take place both online and in-person.) Youth practioners will also attend group reflective sessions facilitated by a Clinical Psychologist, providing therapeutic support to participants and a space to reflect on their learning and experiences. Upon completion of the programme, participants will join a network of Rise Up Alumni and be able to apply for funding to run community initiatives.
Here’s a short, powerful film with reflections from the first cohort of participants. And, we also have a taster session on the 04th February for anyone interested in this opportunity.
