Because cancer affect lives in so many ways, we do whatever it takes to give people the support they need. With your support we can be there for the people in Ealing living with cancer. Find out below about this project and how to get involved.

Ealing and Hounslow Community and Voluntary Service (EHCVS) in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support is running a 2-year project, which aims to strengthen relations with local communities, provide cancer support to minoritised communities and marginalised groups with cancer, improve trust and confidence in the cancer services available and Macmillan cancer support services, and reduce inequalities for patients diagnosed with cancer.

We are recruiting volunteers from Ealing communities to train them to be Cancer Champions to help raise awareness, improve understanding and cancer related services.

What Cancer Champions will be doing:

Create a network in your community promoting cancer awareness about the signs and symptoms and the importance of screening (via religious and community centres, coffee morning, talks, events, and others)

Help your community to get information about cancer and local cancer services

Reach out and support cancer patients and families by connecting them to the appropriate health and wellbeing services, including helping those who are isolated to become more integrated within their community and with other patients.

Provide support and links to patients before, during and after treatment in dealing with issues like finance, medication, appointments, loneliness, exercise, filling forms etc.

Be caring and passionate about learning and helping to provide Cancer support to your community.
