Safeguarding Service
Published on: 15 April 2026
From 2021 to 2023, EHCVS’s Safeguarding Service supported local organisations to strengthen safeguarding knowledge, policies and practice in ways that were practical and accessible. This was especially important for smaller community groups working closely with children, young people and vulnerable adults who may not always have easy access to safeguarding expertise. Through training, one-to-one guidance and wider information-sharing, the service helped organisations improve confidence and quality in this critical area.
Its value lay in helping build everyday safeguarding culture, not just policy compliance. By strengthening systems, awareness and links with wider safeguarding structures, the service helped make local community provision safer and more accountable.
Impact:
- 40+ VCSE groups reached and 600+ staff/volunteers trained in 2020/21.
- 20+ customised sessions for 50+ groups and 700+ people in 2022/23.
One-to-one safeguarding support provided for 25 organisations.
