Community-Led Grantmaking Innovation

In 2025, the Community-Led Grantmaking Innovation programme was designed to make funding more accessible to community organisations, especially those that may have been underrepresented in mainstream funding routes. By directing support toward Black-led groups and community-rooted health responses, it helped shift resources closer to lived experience, cultural relevance and grassroots leadership.

This kind of work mattered because it did more than fund activity. It also changed who got recognised, who got access and whose knowledge counted in shaping local health interventions.

Impact:

• £5,000 awarded to 10 Black-led groups in 2024/25.
• 800+ residents reached.

75% of funded organisations were first-time NHS-funded organisations.
