Next Steps in the Mental Health Equality Campaign

Jul 16, 2018 | Uncategorized

In follow up of our alternative consultation event ‘Hardly Hard to Reach: We Are Having Our Say’ feeding into North West London (NWL) Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)’s Equality Objectives [L1] and the Open Letter we sent to newly elected London Councillors to call for mental health equality for people from Black, Asian and Minority, Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) backgrounds[L2] , we are now organising our fifth meeting to decide on the next steps in the Mental Health Equality Campaign.
When: 7 August 2018
Time: 11:00 – 13:00
Where: Tamil Community Centre, 359 Hanworth Road, Hounslow, TW3 3SQ
Participants will:

  • Discuss the alternative consultation event and the report that was produced as a result
  • Decide what to ask now from the CCG, MHT and Local Authority

The Mental Health Equality Campaign was set up by various (BAMER) groups such as CAIA, ILAYS, Council of Somali Organisations, the Tamil Community centre, Network of Eritrean Women, HEAR and ROTA (Race on the Agenda).
If you have knowledge of the mental health needs of BAMER people in West London, (Ealing, Brent, City of Westminster, Hounslow, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea) you can register by emailing, including details of any access or dietary needs.
Refreshments and a snack will be provided.
