LBH PUBLIC HEALTH TEAM
COVID COMMUNITY CHAMPION
This role involves spreading important health messages about Coronavirus into the community. Anyone can become a community champion but it is helpful if you:
- have an understanding of the local community
- have access to informal communication networks
- speak community languages

NHS VOLUNTEER RESPONDER
NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up by NHS England and Royal Voluntary Service, in partnership with GoodSam, to support the NHS and the care sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.

HOUNSLOW MUTUAL AID
This Mutual Aid group has been set up to coordinate support in the London Borough of Hounslow during the Coronavirus pandemic at neighbourhood level. Our Facebook page has information about how to find and support your local groups.

COMMUNITY ALLOTMENT SUPPORT
We can always do with a pair of extra hands to carry out tasks that the regular membership can’t tackle – this can be moving heavier items that requires a team, woodchipping, painting, planting, hedge trimming…
We also welcome new members to come and join us – they can come Sundays between 12 and 4 to have a chat and a look around – £25 PA membership

LBH CLEANER GREENER HOUNSLOW
As part of Cleaner Greener Hounslow campaign, Hounslow Council have launched a programme of community volunteering to support residents to make Hounslow a cleaner and greener place to live. Environmental Champions will receive training and equipment and be fully supported in promoting the many community projects they organise. Email Alysse Strachan to sign up – email@example.com
TREES FOR CITIES
TREE PLANTING WORKSHOPS
We would love to involve the local community in planting these trees. To do this we are holding a series of small, safe, socially distanced workshops for family households and support bubbles. Workshops are aimed at groups of five or fewer people who are comfortable working together.

FAMILY ACTIVITY BAGS AND TREATS FOR MUMS
We are planning to offer Activity Bags to our families, plus a little treat for the mums that we support. We trialled it over the summer and it was very well received so we would like to continue with monthly or bi-monthly deliveries.

VOUCHERS FOR HOUNSLOW YOUNG CARERS
Brentford FC CST runs a number of projects supporting young carers. This year they are asking for Sainsbury’s vouchers to put towards Christmas hampers for their young people. You can drop these off, post them directly or order them online to be emailed to Kathryn Sonczak, the project manager:

DONATIONS FOR FAMILIES
Please help local families in need this Christmas by making a reverse advent calendar in November! Simply add an item to a box every day and when you’re finished, take it to the collection box/trolley at Tesco Dukes Green Feltham or ASDA Feltham by Monday 7th December. Your donations will be distributed by Feltham Food Bank and Feltham Salvation Army to support local families this Christmas.
FOOD WITH LOVE
VOLUNTEERS & DONATIONS
We are looking for help with food prep daily from 2.00pm – 4.30pm in our kitchen facilities. We are also looking for formal volunteer drivers.
We need the following:
- Canned Beans and pulses (not baked beans) eg black beans, kidney beans etc
- Canned vegetables such as sweetcorn
- Dried herbs and spices for cooking
- Cooking Oil

HOUNSLOW COMMUNITY FOODBOX
We are a volunteer run registered charitywhich provides emergency food and support and advice to those who are in need and live in the London Borough of Hounslow.
The Hounslow Community FoodBox is now operating from Rose Community Centre, Hawthorn Road, Brentford, TW8 8NT during the pandemic – please see opening times for collections and donations in the link below.
SUNSHINE OF HOUNSLOW
FOOD VOUCHERS FOR CARERS
Sunshine of Hounslow is a local community group supporting isolated men and women in the community through health and wellbeing activities and advice. We also support carers and those in need with food, either fresh from our allotment or ready prepared. We are asking for vouchers to supplement the food offer from our allotment.
