Published on: 17 June 2016
The Conservation Volunteers are starting a new Green Gym in Hounslow. Hounslow Heath Green Gym will begin taster sessions from Tuesday 28 June, 10.45 – 2pm. Volunteer meeting point is by the visitor centre (450 Staines Road). Work will include removing invasive species from areas of acid grassland, managing woodland, tidying up the visitor centre beds and more. The Heath is a fantastic local space, cared for by many local people and this initiative will aim to help provide further practical conservation support in managing the Heath.
TCV’s Pevensey Road Green Gym on Monday’s will continue with new TCV Project Officer Jack McCrickard leading the group.
The Green Gym is a fantastic way for local people to be active, meet new people, get involved in a local green space and learn new practical conservation skills. Sessions are FREE, tools and equipment are provided. No experience is necessary to join in! All volunteers need to book a place in advance – please contact Nadia Ward on 07801686014 or email n.ward@tcv.org.uk
