The Hounslow Community Hub supported huge numbers of residents to access food, financial support and medication during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Building on this success, the Council, along with partners and CVS groups, has been developing the next phase of the service which we are calling Community Solutions.
Community Solutions will provide residents with easy access to advice and support before they face a crisis. The team will start by providing information, guidance and support on:
- Mental health & wellbeing support
- Financial advice
- Skills and employment
- Links with children’s provision
- Link to carers support
- Early health intervention
Residents can be signposted and referred to partner services and offered access to assessments for statutory services.
We are also developing a digital platform for the Community Solutions work.
First, we will create a single online community directory of local services that anyone can use. Then, we will bring local services and support groups together on the platform to share knowledge and work more effectively meet the needs of local residents.
Design work and user testing of the platform is underway.
When everything is ready, the Community Solutions team can be accessed by calling the service and visiting in person once they move to physical sites across the borough.
