Mental Health
‘Mental health’ covers a wide range of illnesses affecting a high proportion of the population. New research has shown that there are five important factors in maintaining good mental health:
- Being connected to other people for emotional support.
- Being physically active can reduce the risk of depression.
- Learning new skills can give you a sense of achievement and a new confidence.
- Helping and supporting other people, and working with others towards a shared goal.
- Taking notice; evidence shows that what we do and the way we think have the biggest impact on wellbeing.
