GENERATIONS ACTIVE LEAD TERMS OF REFERENCE
ABOUT LAUREUS SPORT FOR GOOD

Founded under the Patronage of Nelson Mandela in 2000, Laureus Sport for Good (LSFG) has since funded, nurtured, and built more than 250 sport for development programmers in over 50 countries around the world. Through grant funding, capacity building, coalition development and evaluation and learning, we work across six social focus areas: Health, Education, Employment, Women and Girls, Inclusive Society and Peaceful Society.
ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
Model City London is a partnership between Laureus Sport for Good, Nike and the Mayor of London that began in 2018, aimed at improving social integration through sport and empowering local people to drive the change they want to see in their community to tackle self-identified local issues.
The programme is delivered in three areas within Barking, Haringey and Hounslow. Community coordinators in each of the borough areas liaised with local stakeholders such as community organisations, youth groups and faith groups to identify local challenges and opportunities and create coalitions.
Model City London is now in its final year of funded external support through Laureus, with a focus on ensuring that the coalitions are sustainable by September 2024.
OBJECTIVE OF THE CONSULTANCY:
We are looking for a for an individual who is passionate about bringing communities together to lead our Hounslow Coalition, Generations Active Hounslow. Having just become a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation this is an exciting time in the coalitionÂ’s journey.
The coalition lead will:

Deliver a range of administrative functions supporting the local coalition, including co-ordination of the Trustee, leadership group and wider coalition meetings and keeping up to date coalition records.

Work with the substantiality consultant to help create policies, procedures and seek out new ways of improving services and working practices.

Work with the sustainability consultant to create funding applications and identify possible funds and revenue streams to support with sustainability post September 2024.

Support with the creation and implementation of a communication strategy and identify ways to better utilize the Generations Active website and social channels.

Develop and maintain strong & effective working relationships with local organisations to identify local requirements.

Attend key stakeholder meetings and networks to grow Generation ActiveÂ’s strategic position in the borough.

Help co-ordinate the Generations Active Youth Voice project with local partner organisation, KO Club Trust and Laureus.

Liaise with Laureus and support with all monitoring and evaluation for the programme as required.
The ideal candidate will have been involved in Model City London and / or work or live in the borough of Hounslow.
SUBMITTING YOUR PROPOSAL
Laureus looks to contract an organisation or individual set up as a consultant to employ the coalition lead from approximately April 2024 and finish September 2024 to deliver on the above objectives and deliverables.
Please submit a short cover letter and attach a relevant up to date CV and short Proposal detailing suitability to deliver the services.
Reporting

Monthly reporting calls with Laureus Senior MEL Manager and various reporting responsibilities for overall MCL evaluation.
Budget

Up to £11,600 including VAT (suggested £9,600 2 days a week for 30 weeks)

Manager
The lead will report to Laureus Sport for Good (to be determined) in performance of the Services.
The lead will consult with Laureus Sport for Good.

Proposals will be assessed against the following criteria:

Quality and feasibility of proposal to meet the required outcomes.

Local Knowledge of Hounslow area, especially in relation to working with young people.

Previous experience of delivering similar work or evidence of transferable skills.

Experience working / supporting grassroots organisations.
-
A passion and commitment to continue working with GA past this funded period if additional funding is sourced.
Final decision
A decision will be made by Laureus and guided by selected coalition stakeholders.
