WEDNESDAY, 26 JANUARY
FAMILY LINKS TALKING TEENS
The programme helps parents/carers to learn how to build effective communication and relationship with their teenager/s and explore the challenges. The aim is to increase parents’ understanding of teenagers’ feelings & behaviour and deliver key strategies for maintaining and improving relationships
MONDAY, 07 FEBRUARY
FAMILY LINKS ADDITIONAL NEEDS
The programme is aimed at parents and carers of children with additional needs. This can be a physical need, emotional need, or learning difficulty (such as Autism, ADHD). The programme helps parents/carers by offering positive practical, and fun ways of guiding children so they can manage their feelings and behaviour. There is a focus on looking after yourself and understanding you and your own child’s emotional needs and building good communication and practical strategies to manage behaviour.
TUESDAY, 01 MARCH
PARENTING PUZZLE WORKSHOP
The programme consists of four two-hour workshops for groups of parents of children under 5 years old. Parents feel more confident and have a greater understanding of their children’s feelings and needs and how their children communicate these. They have an increased repertoire of parenting strategies to support their child’s development and school readiness.
WEDNESDAY, 02 FEBRUARY
STRENGTHENING FAMILIES, STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES
The programme promotes positive relationships for you and your children, teaching effective discipline methods to provide you with the confidence and skills to make life at home more manageable. The model aims to reduce violent behaviours at home and within the community, focusing on managing children to make the community safer.
THURSDAY, 10 MARCH
FAMILY LINKS NURTURING UNDER-FIVE
The programme will support parents/carers to encourage positive relationships with their children. It will help parents to use positive discipline, how to set limits & boundaries effectively and handle any challenging behaviours. It will help parents to develop skills using praise and encouragement using social and emotional coaching. Parents will gain confidence in handling separations and reunions and the art of praise and encouragement.
FRIDAY, 11 FEBRUARY
THE FREEDOM PROGRAMME
The aim of the programme is to help women understand the beliefs held by abusive men, identify and challenge any shared beliefs, illustrate the effects of domestic abuse on children, and assist women in recognising potential future abusers.
