About this event
Join Clinks for an information and networking session for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across Ealing and Hounslow interested in supporting people with lived experience of the criminal justice system.
This session will introduce the work of Clinks and explore opportunities for local organisations to engage with and strengthen support for individuals impacted by the justice system, both in custody and within the community.
Clinks is an infrastructure organisation supporting the voluntary sector working in the criminal justice system across England and Wales. With over 500 member organisations, Clinks works to strengthen and promote the role of the voluntary sector in criminal justice by:
- Providing a voice to influence change
- Offering practical support and training
- Creating opportunities for collaboration
- Sharing information, resources and good practice
The session will be led by the London Lead for the Third Sector at Clinks and Engagement & Partnership Coordinator at HMP Isis, whose work focuses on:
- Building partnerships between prisons and community organisations
- Supporting voluntary organisations to deliver services and interventions within custodial settings
- Identifying gaps in provision for young men in prison
- Raising awareness of opportunities within the criminal justice sector
This is an opportunity for organisations to:
- Learn more about working within the criminal justice system
- Explore partnership and collaboration opportunities
- Understand how existing community services can support people with lived experience
- Connect with other VCSE organisations across Ealing and Hounslow
- Hear about training, resources and support available through Clinks
Many organisations already support disadvantaged or marginalised groups within the community and may already be working with people affected by the justice system, even if they do not identify specifically as criminal justice organisations.
As the role and value of the voluntary sector continues to be highlighted within the Government’s future plans for criminal justice, this session offers a valuable opportunity to explore how local organisations can contribute to meaningful change.
We welcome organisations of all sizes and specialisms, including those working in:
- Youth services
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Housing and homelessness
- Employment and skills
- Family support
- Substance misuse
- Community development
- Faith and cultural services
Come along to learn more, share your work, and explore how Clinks can support organisations across Ealing and Hounslow.
Who should attend?
VCSE organisations, community groups, charities, social enterprises, faith groups and frontline practitioners working with disadvantaged or marginalised communities in Ealing and Hounslow.
