Published on: 16 May 2022
Ealing Council is consulting on its draft pharmaceutical needs assessment, from 16 May until 15 July 2022.
The Pharmaceutical Regulations 2013, Ealing Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) are preparing to publish a revised Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) by 1st October 2022. The Draft PNA is now ready for consultation which is taking place between Monday 16th May – Friday 15th July 2022.
What is a pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA)?
All health and wellbeing boards are required to produce an assessment of pharmaceutical services in its area every three years. EalingÂ’s next pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA) is due by the end of the September 2022.
The PNA is a report of the present needs for pharmaceutical services. It is used to identify any gaps in current services or improvements that could be made in future pharmaceutical service provision. Pharmaceutical services include:
- Dispensing of medicines and appliances on prescription
- Sale of medicines to the public
- Providing advice to the public on medicines, coping with ill health or general health and well being
- Receiving waste medicines for safe destruction.
As part the engagement exercise and on behalf of Ealing Council, we are inviting you to comment on the draft PNA by accessing the document and online survey through the council website. Ealing 2022 PNA Consultation
