Job Vacancy: SEND Children & Young People Travel Trainer
As a SEND Travel Trainer with Ealing Mencap, you’ll work one-to-one with children and young people (up to age 25), giving them the skills and self-belief to travel safely on public transport.
Your support will open doors for them—helping them access education, friendships, and the wider community, and empowering them to live fuller, more connected lives.
What you’ll do:
- Teach practical travel skills and build confidence for real-world journeys
- Support children, young people, and their families, working closely with schools and professionals
- Be part of a friendly, values-driven team dedicated to making a lasting difference in the community
About you:
- Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities (paid or voluntary)
- Great communication and relationship-building skills
- Confident using public transport and able to work independently across London

Loved and Wanted Fund Launch
The Loved and Wanted Fund will offer grants of up to £60,000 for the delivery of activities between February 2026 and March 2028. Up to 15 venue-based community organisations will be funded to further strengthen relationships between London’s diverse communities and to improve access to services.

- Stage 2 applications (by invitation) open: November 2025
- Awarded organisations announced: February 2026
