The Bridgelink Centre has completed almost 20 years serving the community as a registered charity. Situated on the Ivybridge Estate the centre building hosts a wide range of events and activities including weekly clubs for children and young people.
We are seeking to recruit a sessional Youth Worker to assist with the running of our Junior (7-11 years) and Senior (12-18 years) youth clubs.
The post would ideally suit a candidate with a playworker background who can oversee Arts & Crafts and Cooking-based activities. Experience of working with children and young people is essential.

2020 GSK IMPACT Awards – Open for applications
2020 GSK IMPACT Awards funding and free training for health charities
The GSK IMPACT Awards provide core funding, training and national recognition for charities doing excellent work to improve peoples health and wellbeing. Up to 20 awards will be made ranging from £3,000 to £40,000. To be eligible organisations must be at least three years old, a registered charity, working in a health-related field in the UK, with income between £80,000 and £2.5 million.
Winning organisations will have a film made, receive support with press and publicity and be given a set of promotional materials. They will also be offered free training and development valued at a further £9,500. In 2020 there will be three days of training leading up to the GSK IMPACT Awards ceremony in London. After this participants will be invited to join the GSK IMPACT Awards Network which connects past award winners both online and at meetings, to get and give support, share best practice and continue their professional development. Many participants have commented that the training, the new ideas and enthusiasm that they take away, and the connections they make is even more important than the award money.

A new way of applying for funding from the council
Hounslow Council is in the process of developing a new way for residents and community groups to apply for funding from the council.
The new Thriving Communities Fund will provide a single point of application and contact for all council community funding, improving access and transparency. It will also provide a unified application, assessment and approval process.
The Thriving Communities Fund will bring together a number of different funding streams which aim to support community projects or initiatives and / or voluntary sector delivered services or activities. These include funds previously available through Neighbourhood CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) and the Community Partnerships Unit administered Community Grants, Small Grants and Community Impact Fund (CIF). It also includes additional Housing Revenue Account (HRA) investment to support community initiatives and projects with a clear benefit to Hounslow Housing tenants.
Funding will be available through three different strands – Small, Medium and Large – with application processes and monitoring requirements proportionate to the value of the grant.
- Small Grants of £750 or less
- Medium Grants of up to £15,000
- Large Grants of between £15,000 and £50,000
We are now consulting with residents because we want to ensure that the fund is fit for purpose as soon as it is launched, with clear guidance and a user-friendly application process.
The consultation will run until 21 October 2019
The Mayor of Londons Life off the Streets Winter Programme Fund
The Mayor provides services all year round which offer people sleeping rough a ‘life off the streets’.
This winter (2019/20), through his £2.2m Winter Programme Fund, the Mayor wants to support local authorities and non-profit organisations to expand provision further, and give services the resources to help people rough sleeping find a long-term solution. Successful projects will be expected to open shelters in line with the Mayors commissioned overflow shelters, with a period of continuous opening from after the Christmas period until at least the end of February.
Bidding for the Fund opens on Tuesday 27th August 2019. Grants will range from £50,000 to £250,000 (higher will be considered for multi-borough projects). For further information please see the Winter Programme Fund Prospectus and Application Form in the links below:

Hounslow EU Settlement Service
Hounslow EU Settlement Service will be running free digital sessions for those in need of assistance to apply for the EU Settlement Scheme.
A trained EUSS adviser will be on hand to provide one to one support and immigration advice and assist with making an application.
