London Challenge Poverty Week 11 to 17 October 2021 Small grants : Deadline 22 September 2021
Small grants to allocate in the next two weeks to organisations working with poverty in London.
The money is to help facilitate events during London Challenge Poverty Week from the 11th 17th October. The range of things funded so far includes community garden open days to online art exhibitions youth dance and formal webinars. Groups do not have to be members of 4in10 (although they would be most welcome to join) or to have their main focus as poverty. They can be practical service providers or campaigning so long as the focus of this is changing and challenging the impact of poverty on Londoners.
Application is easy. 500 words by email by the 22nd September. What you would like to do, why you want to do it, what will the money do and how much do you need. Send it back to me and groups will know very quickly if they have been successful or not. Grants range from £300 to £1,500 with the larger ones generally going to events being shared by more than one organisation.
Applications to liza.dresner@childrenengland.org.uk
Through a programme of events and activities, the week aims to bring Londoners together to:
- Increase the visibility of the reality of poverty in London;
- Encourage positive debate and discussion about poverty; and
- Show what is being done to tackle poverty and?call for the changes we need to end it.
