The Childhood Trust supports charities in London working with children and young people from low income backgrounds. Working in partnership with The Big Give, The Childhood Trust builds charities capacity to run fundraising campaigns and leverages match-funding for the money raised.
The Summer Give campaign raises funds for projects taking place during any school holidays (not just the summer!) between Summer 2020 May half term 2021 (inclusive). Applications will be open 20th January – 21st February 2020.
Applicant charities must:
- be registered with the Charity Commission
- have one year of filed annual accounts
- have over £25,000 income (as per your last accounts)
- not be applying for funding for capital costs or religious activities

A reminder of what its all about
The Childhood Trust supports charities to run fundraising campaigns and leverages match-funding for the funds raised. There are two funding campaigns through the year: the Christmas Challenge and the Summer Give.
While in previous years the Summer Give has funded projects taking place during the summer holidays only, in 2020 well be looking for projects taking place during any or all school holidays summer, Christmas, Easter or half terms!
Applicants must:
- be a registered charity with the Charity Commission
- have one year of filed annual accounts
- have over £25,000 income (as showing in your last annual accounts)
- have strong financial processes and be legally compliant
- have a robust governance structure
- have solid safeguarding processes
Projects must:
- be taking place during any school holidays between Summer 2020 May half term 2021 (inclusive)
- have a clear focus on children and young people (CYP) from low-income families in London
- have a budget of between £4000 and £100,000
- be completed within 12 months of the campaign
- not include any religious activities
- not request the funding of capital costs
