Local CIL 2018 – Call for community project submissions – consultation open
Published on: 24 July 2018
The Council is pleased to announce that consultation of the Local CIL 2018 – Call for community project submissions consultation has opened today.
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is the primary mechanism for collecting contributions from development across the Borough. 15% of CIL funds are used to fund local community projects such as improvements to parks and open spaces, supporting community events or expansion of children’s, youth, or senior outreach programs. Local community members, neighbourhood groups, and businesses can nominate their projects, or suggest projects that they would like to see delivered in their neighbourhood.
There is £583,141.03 is available to spend across the borough on community projects. If you would like to nominate projects for CIL funding, please visit the Council’s website from the link for more information about how to submit an application https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/info/20010/planning_and_building/1094/community_infrastructure_levy/5
Please note that consultation closes on the 23rd September and we will only consider projects submitted on the official application form within the consultation period.
Local CIL funding is now also available through the Spacehive crowd funding platform. Spacehive gives community groups a platform to gain local support for their project.
Spacehive is a great way to raise awareness about local projects and gain community buy-in and excitement. Please visit Hounslow Spacehive page for more information.
