Feltham Arts are delighted to be delivering a two year Feltham Heritage project funded through the National Lottery, Heritage Lottery Fund. We are seeking to commission a theatre company, an illustrator, a web designer and a set designer.
Context
The aim of the programme is to increase engagement in heritage in the west of the Hounslow borough, by creating a package for local primary schools and provide the public with an annual Feltham History Day event. The project has been developed in partnership with both voluntary and statutory organisations.
The partners in the Feltham Heritage Project are: Feltham Arts Association (lead partner), Libraries, Feltham Local Studies, West Area Schools, and London Borough of Hounslow. The project will result in a range of innovative arts-led, heritage outputs including: A theatre piece; A series of schools’ workshops; A photographic exhibition; An illustrated map of the area with interactive elements; A physical resource pack for teachers, which will include archive material, worksheets, suggestions for activities and the illustrated map; An online resource and an annual Feltham History Day event.
A major element of the project is the creation of a historically accurate, engaging and entertaining theatre piece, which brings the heritage to life. The audiences for this piece will be diverse including school children, adults and families.
The chosen theatre company, will take a key role in researching, devising and performing this piece. The theatre company will also create and deliver a drama workshop to the schools taking part.
