Free Food Redistribution Project
Published on: 20 May 2016
FareShare is a new charity looking to develop a network for voluntary organisations to collect unsold fresh food at their nearby Tesco stores on a weekly basis.
The project is slowly growing and they have managed to source some much needed fresh fruit and vegetables and other perishable items to over 1000 charitable organisations all over the country. In the following months they will be working with a number of Tesco stores across Hounslow.
They are looking to support organisations who work with vulnerable people in various ways – it could be luncheon clubs for the elderly, soup kitchens for the homeless, advice sessions and support groups for struggling parents, breakfast clubs for children. They  have connected a variety of organisations to their Tesco stores and the potential to build that relationship further is great.
