Build confidence in recognising abuse, responding appropriately to disclosures, and safely signposting to specialist support services
This training is designed for staff and volunteers who may come into contact with survivors of domestic abuse as part of their role. It aims to build confidence in recognising abuse, responding appropriately to disclosures, and safely signposting survivors to specialist support services.
What will be covered:
- Understanding domestic abuse and violence against women and girls (VAWG)
- Different forms of abuse (emotional, coercive control, financial, sexual, physical)
- Impact of abuse on survivors and barriers to seeking help
- Responding safely and appropriately to disclosures
- Effective signposting to specialist domestic abuse services
