Stakeholder Survey – Unpaid Carers – a chance to share your views
Published on: 8 December 2022
Do you come across issues in your work that impact unpaid carers and their families?  Do you have a solution that could make a difference to unpaid carers’ and the people they care for?
What do you need to continue and improve supporting carers in Hounslow? This is your chance to tell us more
Hounslow Council’s Public Health Team invite your service’s participation in our Stakeholder Survey.
Who is a carer?
A carer can be anyone, including children, young people and adults, who looks after someone in their life who would not be able to manage without their support. This could be a family member, partner, neighbour or friend who has an illness, disability, mental health condition or an addition.
People may not see themselves as carers, rather just as an extension of their family role, sons, daughters, partners, parents, friends doing what families do. Caring responsibilities can arise unexpectedly and often are unplanned, with the carer not having any knowledge or training around what to expect.
Why take part?
Because of your organisations interest/role with unpaid carers, we would appreciate your help in providing short feedback on what opportunities and gaps you see in supporting carers in Hounslow, and how you would design future support and services; this is so we can develop a new Carers Strategy.
We would like to learn about any issues that you would want to see being addressed in the planning, and any other comments which you feel Hounslow Council should be aware of during the preparation of the Strategy.Â
We want to provide an opportunity for all communities to feedback and together make an assessment of our current services for carers and develop our future agenda for carers in Hounslow.  Â
Continue to recognise the valuable, and fundamental service that informal carers provide, and how we can support them now and going forward you could help us in setting our commitment.Â
