This is Brentford Community Open Mic

Mar 1, 2022 | Uncategorized

On Sunday 8th May Creative People and Places Hounslow, in collaboration with their Brentford Local Advisory Group, will be holding This is Brentford – a community open mic evening at The Musical Museum.

The family event will be open to all and highlight local performing talent of all kinds, including music, dance, stand-up comedy and more.

Tickets are free; however any donations are welcome and all money raised will go back into supporting creative activities in Brentford.

This show will be hosted by Brentfordian comedian Jim Kent, who recently starred as Dame Trot in St. Faith’s Players 2020 pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, at Watermans Arts Centre.

Tickets for This is Brentford are available online at the Watermans Arts Centre website, via their box office or on the door at the show.

CPP Hounslow are encouraging performers at all levels to sign up to perform at the show, from relative beginners to those who have been performing for years. To sign up, please visit the link at the bottom of this article.

Finley Neilens, CPP Hounslow’s Brentford Community Arts Worker said of the event; “We’re putting on This is Brentford for the whole community. It’s going to be a fantastic evening celebrating community and filled with a diverse array of creative talent. Seeing people new to their craft sharing a stage with experienced performers is going to be very inspiring, and extremely special.”

Creative People and Places Hounslow are a community arts programme working across the borough to provide a range of creative opportunities for the people of Hounslow, from outdoor performances to small exhibitions in local cafes. They are working to make Hounslow a confident, colourful and creative borough – a place where creativity thrives and everyone has the chance to take part.

Jim Kent has been performing stand-up comedy and theatre for 15 years. For the last 10 years he has hosted the popular Way out West Comedy Club at the Griffin in Brentford and has appeared at comedy shows in Brentford, across London and further afield.
